About This Piece

Every handmade knife reflects the materials chosen to create it, and some combinations seem destined to work together.

This handcrafted Damascus hunter brings together flowing Damascus steel, natural antler, and water buffalo horn to create a knife that feels both traditional and distinctive.

The blade is forged from Damascus steel, revealing bold layered patterns that flow across the surface of the steel. Every blade develops its own unique character, ensuring that no two pieces are ever exactly alike. The hunter profile offers a versatile design equally suited for outdoor use, collection, or everyday carry.

The handle combines water buffalo horn with a natural antler crown, creating a striking contrast between smooth dark material and the organic texture of antler. The natural character of both materials has been preserved, allowing the handle to retain the individuality that makes handcrafted knives so appealing.

A polished nickel silver bolster provides a clean transition from blade to handle while adding both durability and refinement. Red and black accent spacers create subtle contrast and tie the handle components together into a balanced, cohesive design.

Along the spine, detailed hand filework serves as a signature element of the build. Visible from above and appreciated in hand, the filework transforms a functional surface into a distinctive feature that reflects the time and attention invested in every knife leaving the forge.

The result is a knife that blends natural materials, traditional craftsmanship, and practical function into a piece designed to be carried, used, and appreciated for years to come.

Maker's Note:

Some material combinations seem to find their own balance. The contrast between water buffalo horn and antler creates a look that feels both rugged and refined, while the Damascus steel ties everything together. It's a combination I've always enjoyed working with.
