About This Piece

“Built with Strength in the Hand and Character in the Steel”

A Bowie knife should carry presence the moment you see it — and confidence the moment you pick it up. This piece was built to do both.

Forged from Damascus steel, the 6-inch clip point blade carries bold layered patterns throughout the steel, giving the knife both visual depth and dependable cutting performance. The clip point profile keeps the blade versatile and controlled, while the subhilt design adds the secure grip and handling that made this style legendary in the first place.

At the center of the knife sits a carbon fiber bolster, creating a sharp contrast between the blade and the flowing handle materials. The handle itself combines copper and black polyester resin, forming swirling patterns that almost seem alive in the light. The deep blacks and glowing copper tones give the knife a strong modern character while still feeling grounded and functional.

Along the spine, Jeff added intricate hand-filed detail work — a time-consuming process that adds texture, grip, and another layer of craftsmanship to the finished piece. These details aren’t rushed or machine cut; they’re shaped by hand one section at a time.

With an overall length of 11 inches, this knife has the feel of a serious working Bowie while still carrying the balance and comfort needed for practical use.

This is more than a display piece.
It’s a knife built to be carried with confidence and passed down with pride.

Maker’s Note

“A Bowie knife ought to feel solid and secure no matter how it’s held. The subhilt design on this one was built for control, while the handle materials gave me a chance to bring a little fire into the piece.”
Jeff Loehr, Bladesmith
