About This Piece
Some knives are built for a customer. Some are built for a collection. Every now and then a knife is built for someone special.
This handcrafted Damascus hunter combines traditional craftsmanship with personal touches that make it truly one of a kind. Built around a beautifully figured burlwood handle infused with green epoxy, the knife reflects both the natural character of the wood and the artistry involved in transforming it into something unique.
The blade is forged from Damascus steel, displaying flowing layered patterns that ensure no two knives are ever exactly alike. With a 4.5-inch blade and an overall length of approximately 8.5 inches, the knife offers a balanced profile well suited for display, collection, or practical use.
A hand-engraved bolster provides an elegant transition between blade and handle while highlighting the custom nature of the piece. The engraving complements the Damascus pattern without overwhelming it, creating a balanced and refined appearance.
The handle is crafted from burlwood infused with green epoxy, producing rich depth, movement, and color throughout the grain. The green accents appear naturally within the wood, creating a look that feels organic while adding a distinctive touch that immediately draws the eye.
Along the spine, detailed hand filework serves as a signature element of the build. Visible from above and appreciated in hand, the filework reflects the extra attention devoted to every stage of the knife's creation.
Paired with a handcrafted leather sheath, this knife represents the combination of craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and personal connection that makes handmade work so meaningful.

Maker's Note:
Every knife tells a story, but some are a little more personal than others. The green-infused burlwood was chosen specifically for this piece, and the materials seemed to come together exactly the way I hoped they would. Sometimes a knife becomes more than a project—it becomes a gift.
