About This Piece

A Bowie knife should inspire confidence the moment it is picked up.

The Mesquite Subhilt Bowie combines classic lines, premium materials, and thoughtful craftsmanship into a knife designed to be both striking and functional. Built around a traditional subhilt design, it offers exceptional control while maintaining the unmistakable presence that has made Bowie knives favorites among collectors and outdoorsmen for generations.

The blade is forged from high carbon steel and finished to a brilliant mirror polish. Clean lines and a refined finish create a dramatic appearance while showcasing the precision of the grind. Along the spine, decorative filework extends across the blade itself, providing a distinctive custom touch that draws the eye without overwhelming the overall design.

The handle is crafted from richly figured Mesquite wood, chosen for its warmth, durability, and natural character. The grain patterns provide subtle movement throughout the handle while maintaining the rugged appeal expected from a working Bowie.

A polished nickel silver guard and subhilt create both visual balance and enhanced control. The subhilt design naturally positions the hand for a secure grip while contributing to the classic silhouette that defines the pattern.

Loveless fasteners complete the construction and provide a clean, timeless appearance.

Powerful, elegant, and unmistakably handcrafted, this Bowie reflects the balance between utility and artistry that defines Jeff's work.

Maker's Note:

The Bowie has always been one of my favorite knife patterns because it balances strength, control, and style so naturally. For this piece, I wanted the mirror-polished blade and Mesquite handle to take center stage while allowing the filework to add just enough detail to make the knife uniquely its own.
